1. Do your research, look online at the different styles and most importantly your price range. What you can get for your money? Have a think about your partner and their taste in jewellery, do they like simple artisan one off pieces, or are they more of the glam, 'diamonds are forever' type?

2. What is your partners favourite social media platform? Because chances are if you are thinking its about time to put a ring on it... they probably are too! Check out posts they have liked, add them on Pintrest, check out their Insta, what posts have they liked on Facebook? Get your stalk on! In the age of social media its easy to find those inspo, #goals, pics which may lead to your own #dreamy moment!

3. Everyone needs a lil help sometimes! This is when you phone a friend, quite literally. Pick up the phone and have a chat to the bestie, ask them to keep it a secret of course, maybe get them to do a little espionage and ask your partner ~casually~ which rings they like next time they are out shopping, or tag them on an Insta post of a jewellers? If the bestie hits gold, its a win for you both!
4. Have a chat to the family. This might seem old school, but chatting to your partners family before the proposal can have some major benefits! You will win some major brownie points with the fam for consulting them first, they can give you some pointers on ring styles, plus you can organise for them to be there right after the big question has been answered (if that is something you feel your partner would appreciate!).
5. Now I know I said these were ways to choose a ring without your partner catching on, but this one pointer is still a surprise! How about taking your partner on a romantic day date, and ending the afternoon at a ring store? Sure the proposal wont be a surprise anymore, but some people would love the thought put into choosing the rings together. You can still have your #goals worthy proposal moment at a later date to get them special snaps for the memories, while also having the memory of picking out rings together!

Once you've decided on the ring all of the fun starts, its time to get planning the proposal! The timeless candlelit dinner, picnic in the park, or a rose petal heart in the sand? Eva Lauren Photography help you to plan your dream proposal!
